Who Am I?

Emma Dunleavy Lachmann

My name is Emma. I live in Toronto. Art has always been a big part of my life. I grew up around my mother who was an artist. She focused mainly on screen printing and painting. Every weekend we would go up to our farm. My mother insisted on taking photos of me and my sister so she could look back on them when we were older. Id take my mother's camera with out her knowing. I would photograph the things around me like my sister and nature. I was 7 when I first picked up my mothers camera.I love almost all kinds of art but I feel a very strong connection to photography maybe because it has always been a large part of my life. Photography is so personal and anyone can interpret it the way they want. Each art piece I create I try very hard to make it different so its something new for everyone to see. For an art piece to be good it has to be important to me.  My main focus for the rest of the year and summer is to photograph more people and landscapes. I want to bring different views to the world though photography. My friends and family inspire me and so do other artists. My art has been shown at the Linden art show and in Gallery 44 in early 2016. I have taken art classes since I was young and  will continue studying art through the rest of high school.
